Windows 7 and Windows 8 --------------------------------------- Click Start (Windows) Select Search programs and files (or Windows + X for Windows 8). Type regedit and press Enter. Select Yes. Move to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ services \ LanmanServer \ Parameters. From the Edit menu, select New, DWORD value. Enter a name of SMB1 and press Enter. Double-click the new value and set to 0 to disable SMB (Set to 1 to enable).
